I have just embarked on a two-month internship at DataProphet, a pioneering Cape Town startup that is revolutionising the manufacturing industry. DataProphet is a global AI provider for Industry 4.0, dedicated to improving manufacturing quality and yield. With their advanced machine learning technology, they have proven to reduce defects and scrap by 50% while optimising plant efficiency. I’m excited to form part of this team of talented engineers and data scientists paving new ways to deliver actionable insights and measurable impact to drive continuous improvement. During my time at DataProphet, I will be working on their flagship product, Prescribe, which is transforming the manufacturing industry.

Prescribe is a unique deep learning solution that optimises manufacturing processes by analysing the interdependencies between manufacturing parameters and product quality. By analysing production data and suggesting targeted adjustments, it ensures holistic line control and ongoing improvements in global plant performance. Prescribe continuously updates its model, adapting to dynamic production environments and providing perpetual guidance for optimal quality and throughput. It eliminates latent defects by connecting manufacturing parameters to the best producible quality, resulting in significant defect reduction.
